Notes:
1. Notice that most games need no explanation or details as the PL's (indeed, all the Scouts) are used to playing and running them. Those that are new have their origins noted in the program when they choose such a game at the programme planning meeting.
2. This program was completely planned and run by the Patrol Leaders themselves (well.. except for the fact that some of the 'teaching' of the badgework had to be done by the leaders. What I mean is they plan and execute the program..that does not mean they have to teach and assess every part of the badges).
3. We finally (!) started to mark who was duty patrol on the program. The PL of this patrol is the one who collects the subs, helps with inspection, chooses a Scout for the flag from their patrol. They run the games, organise the Scouts, settle the arguments during a game, put them in their groups and do all the other misc. tasks. They stand up the front and call the Troop to alert during Flag etc, they give out the messages and notices and dismiss the Troop.
4. Who is Blondie? For a long time in our Troop and Pack we have had the same leaders with their own unique style and this tends to rub off onto the kids. Our Scouts tend to be referred to as Floss, Blondie, Taz, Baccy, Bizza, Jedi, Gazza, Reedy and so forth. This causes much amusement when im reading out names or shouting for them at District events and similar. They take to these nicknames quickly and we are careful to make sure they are well liked and not a form of bullying!
5. The party night is a group tradition. We have a disco/party games night on the last week of the year. They do not have to wear uniform or pay subs for this night. This year the Scouts organised the night fully. They even supplied a disco with decks, lights and smoke machine!
